it was born with out a tail.. so does that affect the cat in anyway or will it cause problems later in its life. or should i not worry about it.

Nope, Kitty will be just fine. It won't affect her at all; just please remember to spay/neuter your kitten when she's old enough; get the necessary shots and keep her as an indoor cat. A blessing on you all.
PS My cat Sasha was born without a tail and he's 8 years old now and as feisty as he always has been.

It's probably just the breed, some cat breeds don't have tails. If not, don't worry, there's nothing wrong with a cat with no tail
It should be no problem. I've seen many tail-less cats and they all seem normal and healthy. Certain breeds don't have tails. If they're not born with one, they'll never miss it!
It's really only there for balance, but if it has never had one it won't know the difference. Have fun!

There is a breed of tailless cats called Manx. The genetic aberration developed on The Isle of Man off the British coast. I have heard that sometimes the animals have difficulty with their bowels and lower intestines.
My cat certainly has none of these and if the cat behaves normally in the elimination department you should have no concerns.

My cat had a kitten without a tail too and I have seen alot of cats without one. Your cat will be fine. I always called them bobcats.
I beleive that maybe it could be serious but thats for a definite vet to decide but if you do find out that its serious you sould get one more cat just in case your existing cat goes to the little litter box in the sky
It may be a Manx does it have a very round head and rounded cheeks which give it a jowly high in the hind quarters with the back legs much longer than the forelegs. Then you have a Manx some time this breed does breed cats with tails or short tails or that little lump in the back end. The Manx is a mutation of a breed of the domestic cat. They are just like other cat their form let them stay balance with out having their tail the longer back legs I mean. They are like the dogs of cat the fetching and digging hole in the yard to bury things. They are very playful if that cat you have is a Manx don't worry its normal for that breed to be tailless.
Also they are jumper they like high places and being jumper The jump higher than other domestic cat
It shouldn't affect the cat at all. There are people out there that have their cats tails removed.
The cat will be perfectly fine. My cat's mother had no tail and she is a good 7 years old now. If it is not irritating your daughters cat then the cat for be fine.
it is totally fine. i have a friend who's cat got cancer in his tail so now he has a stub, but he doesn't mind at all. i also saw a video of a kitten who was born without her back legs so she only had her front ones, and she got around by walking with her hind legs over her head like in a handstand!
