small cat?

my dad works at a recyling plant and he found a kitten in a skip we took it to be checked by our vet and it was under observation for a while and they said it was fine. However we've had it for like a year now and its hardly grown any ideas why?
Answers:
It could be a number of things. For starters, if the kitten was undernourished when it was very small, it may have never been able to recover and simply be stunted in growth. Has it been dewormed several times? Worms can be recurring in kittens and causes them not to grow or gain weight properly.

If nothing's medically wrong with it, it could just be a small cat. We have a cat who is 14 years old and has never weighed more than 6 pounds. We got her as an 8 week old kitten from a nursing mother, so she wasn't ill or undernourished, she's just tiny. I wouldn't worry too much if I was you, just maybe have the vet check her for worms one more time now that she's older.
don't worry my Kit is 18 years old and the size of a 6 month old kitten. some don't grow like people.
It could be the breed. If he seems healthy and happy I think that it would be ok. Or you may want to concider a change in diet. WE feed our cats both dry which we have for them 24/7. and moist food that we feed them 2 times a day.
it could just be the bread of it.
just like people we all come in different sizes
it depends what kind of kitty you have . Didn't the vet tell you ? Mine here at home is a year old and way smaller than reg cats . So don't worry too much as long it is otherwise healthy !
Likely malnourished as a Kitten before you got it. its growth might have been permenantly stunted. If so it just means that you have a little runt of a cat. Somebody ignorant enough to put a live kitten in a dumpster is likely ignorant enough not to feed it when it was small. Enjoy your stunted little cat and if anybody asks, just tell them it is an exotic toy breed cat. Like one of those silly little dogs that are so popular.
If a vet has given an OK as to its health it shouldn't be a matter of concern.
Maybe it is the runt of the litter and just a small cat.
probably was the runt i have two such cats they are just going to be small thats all
How nuch have you've been feeding it?
some cats are naturally small- could be the result of breeding. Maybe your kitty is just a runt- I had one like that and she didn't grow much for about two years. If she seems healthy otherwise I wouldn't worry.
some cats are just smaller than others. Her mother may have also been small.
