sneezy kitten?

my kitten just came home friday from being declawed, ever since he's been sneezing very badly and has one runny eye. He's not stuffed up or congested.would the stress of surgery cause a cold.or could it just be allergies?
Answers:
he could have had a weakened immune system before surgery(which would have been undetectable) and the stress of the surgery has caused him to show some symptoms. I would stay on top of it so it doesn't get too bad. Contact your vet for some antibiotic etc.
HI DOES YOUR CAT HAVE IT'S SHOTS I'M SURE HE DOES IF YOU GOT HIM DE CLAWED. MY KITTEN WAS SNEEZING RUNNY NOSE,PLEASE HAVE YOUR CAT CHECKED COULD BE A COLD OR COULD BE DISTEMPER YOU DON'T WANT TO MESS WITH THAT.
I got a kitten from the pound and he was doing the same thing. I took him to the vet and he had a cold. He took one pill a day for a week and was fine.
I'd give the veterinarian a call, just to see if maybe it could be something to do with being under anesthesia. The cats at our clinic stay in house for 3 days after declawing. How long was yours in there for? Did the doctor or vet techs notice anything odd that they logged?

He should be on some kind of antibiotic also since he had surgery. See depending on what type of antibiotic, that could also take care of any possible problems.
URTI - upper respiratory tract infection.. probably exposed to germs while at the vet and the stress made it more likey to catch it.
now why would you declaw a kitten? why would you get a kitten if scratching were an issue? why not an older cat? kittens are very claw agressive by nature and grow out of most of it
I sure hope your vet was open and honest about the risks and behavioral changes associated with declawing.. most vets are not.. they tell you its safe.when in fact
20% refuse to use thier litter following a declaw (use non scented clumping as its softest on their paws)
60% experience a behavior change (either becoming more agressive or becoming more scared and flighty)
5% become so neurotic they are euthanized within a year of the surgery

and more.. anyhow this is for future reference only - there are alternitives called SOFT PAWS claw protectors or providing appropriate cat furniture.. or simply gettting an older pet or one that already was declawed rather than subecting a new kitty to it

ok URTI - like a cold in people it will go away on its own HOWEVER it can become Pneumonia so monitor the kitty and if you see massive snot, especially bloody, or he starts panting like a dog or refuses food and water then get to a vet ASAP
(most allergies are food related and show up as bad skin - unless you use alot of household sprays which could irritate his lungs)
He may have caught a cold from one of the other animals at the vet's office. You should call your vet and describe the symptoms, he probably needs eye drops or medication.
