too finicky?

I buy the cheap dry cat food and mix it with the expensive kind because I can't afford to feed these hogs the expensive stuff alone. These little boogers are picking out the good pieces and leaving behind the cheap stuff. Where can I get them jobs to help finance their 14k taste? has anybody else dealt with this before?

I am constantly amazed at how cats can eat around anything strange or that they don't like in their food. You can't get a pill or a supplement in them if your life depended on it.

I don't know what you mean by "expensive" stuff and maybe they are just nutritionally discerning and are try to tell you something. Science Diet is just as bad as any cheap grocery store food at $2.04 per lb.

Everything today is more expensive than it was five years ago, our food too. You just need to skimp somewhere else than on your cats' food. We are a nation of compulsive consumers and should all be more judicious about where we put our bucks. And please don't skimp on the cats. Food is so basic to life and health and they are dependent on you to make the right choices for them. Are we talking about $5.00 more a month here?
feed them the cheap stuff exclusively. They wont starve for long believe me.
nope
i can tell u one thing.if they get hungry , they will eat what u put in front of them. i have the opposite problem with my finicky cat, lucky me he won't eat the good stuff.
You should get a dog.I had a dog that would eat poop. No sirree dogs are not finicky at all..
They know better! LOL

It may be expensive but the vet told me that cats will consume twice the amount of the cheap grocery store food to supplement the nutrients that are in one normal serving of the expensive food. In the end you are either going to be buying two bags of cheap stuff or one bag of expensive stuff. But YOU NEED TO STICK TO ONE BRAND don't mix the food buy one or the other. Mixing the food will give them diarrhea.
sparkle is correct about the food consumption. cats need the energy level of a good product and will eat at least twice as much of the cheap stuff even if you serve it to them exclusively.
go ahead and get them the good stuff and as was said don't mix and match the food, you won't like the litter box. stay away from any cat food that starts with the list of ingredients corn, or fillers,
or the like that a carnivorous animal(such as a cat) should eat.
cats are not vegans.
