My cat Wanda always bites me, but it seems like she is playing. Why does she do this!?!? It really hurts!

Mine does that too. He is playing, but he means it sometimes. I think it is because he didn't socialise with other cats enough as a kitten, and he doesn't know he's not supposed to. Tell her off a bit, say No firmly, at leat she should know you don't like it.
I have two cats. One bites my hand when I play a little too rough with her. The other bites my feet when he wants my attention but I'm busy. She's just playing though.
mine does this to get back at me..for correcting him from something I didn't like him doing.
probably for naming her "wanda".

She must like the sounds you make when she bites you. (birds are very similar)
Make a noise she doesn't like, or put her down, or do something she would rather not you do. ( I put my bird in her cage) Like Pavlov's dogs, she will eventually learn what it is causing this, %26 not do it, IF you are consistant, %26 constant.

One of my cats woke me up the other night chewing on my arm. Kitties bite and chew and scratch and pur and love all in the same minute.. I dont think we'll ever completely understand the feline brain!
She IS playing. But it's not acceptable.
To stop her, give her a spray of water from a bottle or squirt gun when she bites. You can also try saying "Ouch!" or "No!" and walking away, or replacing your hand with a toy. Hissing is also supposed to work.
And don't ever play with her using parts of your body as the toy.
She is playing. She doesn't know it hurts you because she doesn't know the force she can exert and how it relates to you. First off don't encourage or allow that behavior.
When she does it blow in her face or make a hissing noise like a cat. That is how her mother would have disciplined her. The longer she has been doing it the harder it will be for you to break her of the habit.
Everyone in the house must do this to discipline her or else you will just confuse the cat by sending mixed signals.
