K. My family , my boyfriend and I are going to dineyland and staying the night there for one day . I might leave him at my gradma's house, if she cant take care of him , he will have to leave him at the vet or that place where you pay someone to watch your cat. Anyways what do they do and how do they watch them? Do they just feed them and leave them in thier cage? Will they treat him right? And my other ? is that why do cat's like to scrah things?And please dont be rude . I just want to know. Thank you.

Well, if you leave your pet at a veterinary hospital/clinic, you can feel safe because that's one of our favorite jobs- we give TLC (Tender Loving Care) to all critters like they are our own pets. and friendly critters in particular get everybody's attention. You can bring your own blanket/towel and favorite toy if you want (just make sure they know that they belong to you), or we would provide your kitty with a blanket/towel. Litterbox, food, and water would be provided (let us know what kind of food your kitty likes - dry, canned, mixed). Always check with your veterinarian to make sure they accept borders. At least if any medical problems pop up, they'll be caught and treated. The problem is that visiting the hosptial always stresses your pet out.
Another option is a pet kennel. Personally, I would not choose this option; I don't have time to check out the credentials of the kennel and the people who work there. This option also stresses your kitty out.
A third option is to find a pet sitter. Pet sitters might come to your house and take care of your pet (if you are living in a different house than your grandmother's home). Or your pet sitter might be a good friend - a close neighbor, for an example - who is willing to have your pet "visit" them for a couple of days.
Some pet sitters stay with the cat; other pet sitters drop by at least twice a day to give TLC, clean litterboxes, make sure water and food is plentiful, check for packages, pick up mail, water plants, take out trash, and make sure the house is still in one piece. This is the safest option because the cat is in his/her own territory, which means a low stress level which is better for your kitty's health.
No matter what option you choose, having your pet taken care of by someone you trust is the best way to go.
As for scratching . it's a natural instinct. In the wild, cats scratch objects to sharpen their claws, which will help them dig into their prey - or bury a meal for a later time. Our kitties don't have to actually go hunt their food or bury anything, but that same instinct is still there. Another reason for scratching is that kitty leaves a scent from sweat glands in the paws behind, which is just another way of saying "I've been here and it's now mine."

Locally there is a dog/cat hotel that yes they do have them in cages but if you get the right facility many will treat them like they are on holiday to. They get spa treatments and all kinds of stuff
When I go away, I leave my dog at the vet hospital/bording place and they treat him great. They feed him, take him on walks, and play with him. I would research the place you might leave your kitten. Ask them questions about how they take care of the pets. try not to worry..Good Luck!
Honey, I think your cat would be much more comfortable staying right at his own home. If your only going to be gone for a day then whats the big deal, he's going to have to get used to it sooner or later. Leave him a big bowl of water and 2 days worth of food in his food dish. I, personally would maybe, go out and get him a new toy before you leave to set up for him so he can keep entertained. It's only a day. It's normal to worry the first time.
My roommate didn't like for her cats to be alone even for one night. If I wasn't going to be there, she would hire a cat sitter. Do you have a friend who could come over and pet him for the day if you are really worried about him. If it is just for one day, your kitty should be OK. You could leave a TV or radio on for company. You could put the litter box and food in one room and close the door so you know your kitty won't scratch everything in the house that day. Make sure your kitty has his favorite toys to play with. I use to leave my other cat for a day or two and she was just fine. I have another one, who seems to want my company a little more than she did. I would just ask a friend to stop by to play with him. Enjoy your vacation day and don't worry, He should be fine.

If you are gone for one day only, just leave him at home. As long it has food, water and a litter box. Cats can be left alone for a week and it doesn't bother them at all. If you don't want him roaming thru the whole house, just put him a room with food, water and a litter box and of course lots of toys, as long as the room is not to small.
I think you should leave him/her with a syballing or take that cat with you to Disney Land and leave him in the hotel with plenty of food and plenty of water/litter, and if you are going to a hotel/motel that they won't let any pets aloud still take him and leave him in a daycare for pets it's better for him/her to be in a place where you can see him if he's/her is in trouble or had a accedent!Toodles
We leave our cats home with plenty of water and food, and their favorite TV channel on, if we're only going to be gone one or two nights. We've tried many alternatives in their 13 years.
In your standard kennel, vets or otherwise, they do just put them in a cage. They may pet them some when they feed them and clean the cage. Some may offer a playroom, where the cats can all go in together and play with each other and climb cat structures. Mine don't like kennels and managed to come home with the kittie version of kennel cough. We all suffered. Mixing nose sprays to shoot up that tiny nose and then actually doing it is not a fun adventure.
There are pet sitters. This worked well for us and they just loved the one that we used in Athens, GA to death. But not all are the same. You should try to use someone recommended to you by someone. We had two bad experiences with sitters abscent mindedness (i.e. forgot when they were supposed to come, how often, etc.) If you use a friend make sure it's someone you can trust to stick to the schedule. We used a husband's co-worker once, and while the cats were happy as clams when we got home, he also 'borrowed' a $200 book without asking or even telling us he'd done it. My husband had to corner him at work when we found it missing!
There are fancy kitty hotels that cost a small fortune, but kitty would get more attention. For your length of stay I'd recommend a pet sitter or a trusted friend.
