Warm milk of lullaby to get two 5 1/2 month old kittens to stop playing and go to sleep?

BTW I'm joking i would never give them milk, but any ideas to calm them would be appreciated.

Just let them be, they need to do what they do, night time is kitty cat time. They will grow out of this. Try to get them to sleep with you.
Hi there..generally we have found that if our cats have fast/hyper play time for 10 - 15 minutes before bedtime it will help expend out their full energy. They sleep more soundly after a fun filled few minutes as well as bond with you as well.

A similar way to help put this into prospective .if you sprint for 5 minutes you will feel energized while doing it but afterwards will feel more relaxed when finished. For oversimplification purposes I won't go into the brain chemistry into detail. It's a way of forcing the body's brain endorphins upward to tell the brain it feels good, which then releases other chemicals in another part of the brain to slow everything down to recover from the hard activity.
To make sure mine went to sleep, I put them in their cat cage (not a carry cage/crate) with their beds, food, water and litter (of course) and no toys. They would settle for the night. As they grew would let them free run of the room where I had their cage. If they played up, they were put back in the cage. They now have free run of the room and no problems.
Play with them for as long as it takes for them to appear tired before bedtime - you'll drop off to sleep before they wake up again.
