Okay here is the deal the cat pees where he wants and poops where he wants! We give him lots of attention! we clean the litter out everyday!
we just got back from vacation so the cat used our bed as his box! well we marked it off as him missing us!
well everyday we have been back he has done the same thing poops on our bed!
well yesterday he did it twice when we got home from work he had a nice gift for us well we rubbed his nose in it and took control. i know this is good for dogs but does it work on cats? anyway while we were home he goes and uses the bed again!
it was a nice suprise before bed time!
I'm sick of changing the sheets! and just sick of the cat. we both love the cat but this is getting to be such a problem. i would love any advice!

I bet this cat is got a problem, could be sick inside or an infected, Never rub it's face i it, it don't do any good and it is harmful. I have a cat that is 16 and she started this when she was a kitten. She would be good for awhile and then she would get a tract infection and pee in the bed again. I lost thousands of dollars throwing mattresses out and even if she is not infected, she will pee in the bed first chance she gets. The only thing you can do is keep the bedroom off limits to this cat! Door closed! Beating it won't help and I know it is easy to hurt a cat, when you compare strengths and how angry you get when this happens. talk to the vet, see if something is going on,or if this is just a bad habbit, and if you have not had the cat long and are not willing to keep the bedroom door shut, then you might want to find a new home for it. Mattress world has a bed cover that is thin and no water, nothing gets through it! It runs about 80.00 for a queen size. It is worth it just in case of an emergency. We bought them because we bought very expensive beds and keep the doors closed, but never know. Try getting a scent free litter, keep the litterboxes clean, yes, 2 of them, pee in one poop in the other. Tidy cat has a new brand out now next to the original, t says "new Tidy Lock" on the right side as you are loking at he container. No smell to it. Give it a try. My friend has a cat, had her it's whole life and the cat would not use the litter box then would pee in it but not poop, well found out kitty did not like her litter, the strong smell of it, so they buy arm and hammer scent free and the cat poops in it now too. They also bought the littermaid so the cat box stays clean. i have one as well. Good Luck to you, watch the temper! Trust me, I know what you are going through. Those doors have been shut for 16 years and she will try to slip in there at times. She has too! Please talk to the vet for some help sometimes something could be going on. Especially if the cat just peed in front of your partener!
How old is he.He may have an uncontrollable bathroom problem.take him to the vet..or if he's young it just takes time.put down newspapers he's just like toddlers he goes when he feels the urge instead of going before it is to late.if your just washing the sheets and putting them back on all of the smell is not getting out and he can smell it and will do it in the same place again.
Time to get rid of a cat. Once that smell is in things the cat will always do this. I love animals but I would get rid of it!
cats pee and poo on people's stuff for two reasons.they are trying to tell you they are sick or they hate your guts. I advise you rid yourself of this pet.i would have long ago
Put food bowls nearby (they don't poop/pee in feeding areas), or try a pheremone spray.

There are a few things you can do. First, have him checked for any health problems. Second, Rubbing a dogs nose in his 'accident' does not work for dogs, nor cats. It is best to reward him when he uses the litter box instead. (Long explanation on this, it may be best to get a good book on why not to do this at your library) Third: You can keep the cat confined to a bathroom or other room with his litter box and food/water/bed for a period of a few months until he gets into the habit of using his litter box again. Fourth: Most cats who eliminate inappropriately either have a health problem (First) or, they are upset about a change in the environment. (New pet, stray cats outside, new baby, move, change in litter, loud noises, being home alone all day, etc) If this is the case, and I suspect it is, think real hard about when he began this behavior and what had changed at that time in the environment. He is more than likely trying to tell you that he is upset about something in his environment. When you figure it out, you can try to work on removing or decreasing the changed element. If you can't think of anything and his health has been checked, you may go to the extreme and consult an animal communicator. Many people who have used reputable animal communicators wished they would have taken this 'extreme' step first, rather than later.
Finally, but move up the list to third: Add a couple more litter boxes to some rooms, especially the bedroom. Is his litterbox convenient for him to get to and in a place where he can go with quiet and no interruptions?

Your going to have to get rid of the whole bed and not just the sheets because once a cat uses anything other than a litter box for a toilet the smell is there and if the cat can still smell It's poop then it will think that thats where it is suppose to go. the smell has to be totally gone in order for the cat not to go in the same spot.
I think you should take the cat to the vet. the cat may be sick or trying to tell you something.I have a cat of my own,she sometimes poops in my bathtub.she was driving me nuts.She poops in my bathtub when her litterbox is to dirty,cats are very picky.So now i change her litterbox as frequently as possible that way we are both happy.She still does it once in a while just to keep me in check.cats are very smart,if you pay close enough attention you learn how to figure them out.
If you can catch him--use a spray bottle as cats hate water
Have him checked by a vet for urinary tract infections. He also may suffer from separation anxiety. I would try locking him in your basement or the bathroom while your gone and keep him out of your bedroom. Good Luck
Cats with urinary tract or kidney infections tend to go in softer places (like beds) because it's more comfortable than going in the box, so take your cat to the vet to rule that out first.
If it's behavioral, rubbing his face in it doesn't do much: cats have very short memories. Reward him when he goes in the litter box with extra attention or treats and maybe look into getting a hormone spray like Feliway. It's a little pricey, but other cat owners I've talked to swear by it when their cats have behavioral problems.
Also, if you've got a closed-top box, try taking the top off for a while; the smells that get trapped in there are pretty horrific. You could also try a different litter (my cat won't go in the box when I buy the cheap stuff). If you catch your cat in the act, immediately pick him up and put him in the box.
I know it's frustrating; my cat pees in my clothes hamper occasionally, usually when she's mad or I'm not cleaning her litter box frequently enough for her tastes. You can yell and scream but the cat probably won't connect your aggression with his act.
