Stray cat hurt HELP!!?

A sweet stray has adopted our family, it's been living on our pourch for almost three weeks, which is fine, it is warm and dry and I even got it a padded kitty hutch.

But we suspect it my have been the target of a bee-bee gun shot. Only proplem is we can't quite afford a vet, any other ideas would be really helpfull and most welcomed.

I am so glad to see that you are caring for this cat. Like someone else said the world needs more people that respect our animals. It is our responsibility to care for them. I have been in your situation before. In my case I was able to take the cat to the vet and drop about $150 and get everything done to bring him inside. It was a bit expensive, but he is a wonderful cat. I have 4 now and a Chihuahua. Try to call around and locate a vet that may help you and take payments. Tell them your dilemma, some will understand. If you take it to the Humane Society the cat may not have a chance. At least around here we call it the Inhumane Society. They will kill anything, even the pregnant ones. Be persistent. Call every vet in your area. Call all the animal organizations that you have in your area. Someone will care enough to work with you on the cost. It's tedious, but once you see that little baby laying on your bed sleeping it all pays off. Good Luck! Thanks for being a compassionate person.
Humane Society
SPCA has a Vet care program for pet owners who can not afford it on there own. Or you could take him to a no kill shelter, they'll fix em up before adopting him out. Good Luck
IF you can handle the cat, check it out for any sores.if you find a tender lump, the cat has something under its skin.if not, probably nothing to worry about. IF you cannot handle the cat, leave it alone and let nature take its course. Usually, cats are well equipped to handle small infections..large ones are another story, but you could tell if the cat were really sick. Cats are delicate, health-wise, in some areas, but not in others..small infections or a BB under its skin will probably do no long range harm. Good luck
The best thing to do is watch the cat for any other severe problems. If any problems do arise there are some facilities that will do examinations for free. Thanks for being such a caring person. We need more like you in the world.
Call the local animal shelter, you may have to surrender to cat to them but if you can't afford proper care that is the best thing for the cat.
I had a chihuahua that my neighbor shot with bird shot from a shotgun there were 4 wounds %26 1 went into the lower eye lid. He survived it but the cost of treatment was in the hundreds.
spca can help alot
what makes you suspect this? is it a little lump under the skin?
If so, we had the same thing happen to our cat, and when we took her in, it turned out to be a pimple!
Ok, the vet didn't call it a pimple, but he said pore got infected (PIMPLE!).

Good luck, and get the cat to the vet if you can find one that will take payments.
Oh Shi
That's so cruel how ever did that to the little kitty. Well done to you and your family for looking after it. All you have to do is ring the vet and tell them what has happened to the kitten, they should fixx the kitty for free. Good for you
You may want to call around and see if there is a vet who can help you with basic shots and medical care. Contact the SPCA in your area for low cost alternatives or referrals because the kitty needs help. Glad you are sheltering it.
open up your phone book and search online for rescue groups in your area. Most likely, there is a humane society, cat rescue group, or some other type of rescue group. Also, call some of the vets in your area. Tell them you found an injured cat, and it needs help, but you can't afford to pay for it yourself. Tell them you are being a good Samaritan and need help. They will either give the cat free treatment or tell you who to call to get it help.

I just had a similar situation last night, where I found a hurt animal at about midnight and had to make several calls to get it help. It worked though, and everything is fine now. It is just a matter of making the phone calls.
The first thing you have to do is make sure he is really hurt. Second thing is if you know anyone like a friend who has had experience with animals, call them. Ask them what to do. Third is make sure he is nurtured and well fed. If he is not, give him some water and a piece of fish if you don't have cat food. If you cannot contact a fried or family member who is good with animals, call 911. they Will,l take care of him. Maybe since %26#92;you saved him, you might be able to adopt him!!
bring it to animal ark its free there they will take good care of it okay honey
Well, one thing's for sure; you don't want the poor thing to suffer and I can tell you really want to help it. The only thing I can think of is to take him to a local shelter or the Humane Society and explain the situation to them and hope they help. Or maybe borrow the money for the vet? Good luck.
not rilly any thing the be-be wont hert it they dont have enuf power to couse eny permanet damege if the be-be is in it's skin it will probubley be all rite good luck!!
take her to an animal shelter. they should check her out for free since she's a stray. they might try to make you pay,but it will be cheaper than a vet. hope i helped you .
