Mickey Mouse and Precious have never lived anywhere but here in our Apartment with only patio doors and 2 windows, plus a door opening to hallway. Now we are moving into a ranch style home with attached garage. I am so concerned they will get out because of not liking new home. I am home all the time, I'm disabled, that's why the new house built for my disabilities. Any suggestions to keep these two safe I'd be sick if anything happens to either one, they keep me going?

I'm with you - we've always kept our precious kitties inside! I'd be heartbroken if anything happened to them! They're healthier and safer inside. We have screen doors in addition to regular doors just to make sure it's tougher for ours to scoot out if they get brave. And the doors have a spring closer, not the hydraulic closers - they're too slow at making the door close. You might consider even putting a screen at the door going from house to garage - sounds to me like they might find that exit easiest to escape from. In time they'll adjust to the new place. Besides, they don't care where they live - as long as they're with you! Best wishes to you on your new home - how exciting! Tell me when the teapot is on - I'll stop by for tea! LOL!
Just keep them inside, keep doors and windows latched. They'll adjust in no time. I've done it with differents cats over the years. They know you love them and you will take care of them. It will be natural curiousity for them to want to look out the doors and windows at what goes on outside but after a month or so of investigating all the corners, closets, and hiding spots in the new house, they'll be at "home". Don't fret, it'll be just fine! Good luck! and enjoy your new home.
If they are used to the indoors, then they more than likely have no problem staying inside.
When introducing you cats to a new home be sure you reassure them. They will be a bit nervous and scared at first. But as long as they see you enjoying the new home, I am sure they will come along within a couple of days.
If they were raised indoors, keep them as such.
There are no more precautions in the house than you could take in your apartment. The only thing I can suggest is keep them in one particular room while you move in and allow them to adjust. After you've moved everything in, allow them to explore the house. Pet them and reassure them regularly. Make sure they are shown where their food is and where the litterbox is located. There may be some accidents at first, but generally they will adjust quickly.
You will definitely need to work out a system to keep them out of the garage. Someone suggested a screen door - that would work fine. I highly recommend making that adjustment, if there is not already one in place.
Other than that, there's nothing more you can do. just keep them at ease as much as possible :)
i've had to move my cats many times. here's what i do: i move my bed in first and get it set up. lock the cats in the bedroom with all their needs. then move everything else in. don't let them out until everything is in and more or less set up. don't let them out until you're ready to settle in for the night and keep the doors to outside closed. and if they're indoor/outdoor cats, don't let them out for a few WEEKS.
